The FAIRTRADE Mark is an independent consumer label which appears on a
range of retail and catering products as a guarantee that disadvantaged farmers and workers in the
developing world are getting a better deal.
Toxic Coffee
is for discerning and intelligent coffee drinkers with a conscience. Coffee is the most heavily
traded agricultural commodity in the world, fuelling the economies of literally dozens of
countries. Toxic Coffee is for those of you who not only appreciate good tasting coffee, but will
rest easy knowing that the farmers who grew it and others involved all received a fair price for
their time, commitment and passion.
Totally Organic X
Indigenously Cultivated
Organic foods are considered by many of us as a healthier option, knowing that what we consume is
free from chemicals and artificial cultivating and processing methods. At Pomeroys we have taken it
one step further with our Toxic Coffee brand. All Toxic Coffee is not only totally organic; it also
bears the Fairtrade mark and is indigenously cultivated.
Tripple bottom line
We created the Toxic Coffee brand to support the ethos of fair trade. We adopt a triple bottom line
approach, which takes into account the social, environmental and economic impact on the communities
where coffee is grown, helping smallholder coffee growers to compete with the big companies in a
global market.
Small business helping small business
Pomeroy's may be a small company on a global scale, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a
difference. Producing coffee, especially good coffee is very labour-intensive. Fairtrade guarantees
producer organisations a fair and stable price for their products that covers their costs and
enables them to support their families and invest in a better future.
Protecting supply
Through Fairtrade, specialty coffee growers not only receive a better return for their coffee,
enabling them to focus on the finer details involved in producing truly great coffee, they are
given a better chance to pass on their coffee-growing traditions to the next generation. It is the
sustainability of these specialist coffee growers in the best coffee-producing areas of the world
that enables us to continue to enjoy the delicious taste of good organic coffee.
Through the Toxic Coffee brand, we are able to bring to our customers the
ability to contribute to this important global issue, one cup at a time.
